This is an original plate from the Natural History of New York; Flora of the State of New York by John Torrey, M.D., F.L.S. The book was published in 1843 by D. Appleton & Co. and Wiley & Putnam of New York. This plate shows Magnolia Glauca or Virginiana also known as Sweet Bay or Swamp Magnolia.
